- Maye Combs Morrison, born circa 1890, lived in Lexington, Kentucky. She was married to W. Wendell Morrison and for a time lived at 150 E. Bell Court in Lexington.
- Scope and Content
- The Maye Combs Morrison scrapbooks (dated 1935-1965; 2 cubic feet; 11 items) consists of eleven scrapbooks of Lexington, Kentucky newspaper clippings. The scrapbooks are labeled in a numeral sequence with the exception of scrapbook 9. There is not a scrapbook 9 in the collection. The scrapbooks consist of newspaper clippings. These newspaper clippings, many of which came from the "Lexington Herald" or the "Lexington Leader", detail weddings, obituaries, birth notices, crime reports, social events, politics, and other local issues. Pasted in the backs of the scrapbooks are clippings regarding African-Americans in Lexington. Most of these clippings concern the Charles Haggard funeral home and several legal issues regarding the funeral home.
