The faculty of btete University met in special session
in the faculty room in the Gymnasium building, Friday,Mch.20,
1914, at 3:45 P.M., those present being: President Barker,

Professors Anderson, Boyd, Brown, Brumage, Carrel, Dnntzler,

Davis, Gillis, Good, Lieut. Gullion, Dean Hamilton, Prof-

 

essor Hooper, Judge Lafferty, Professors Mathews, Melcher,
Miller, Noe, Peter, Pryor, Roberts, Rowe, Dr. Terrell,
Prof. Terrell, Dr. Tuthill and Prof. Webb.

The meeting was called to order by the Hresident, and
after the roll-call and readino of the minutes of the last

meeting, the subject of hazing was continued.

 

President harker stated that they would consider the

motion made by Prof Tiller at the previous meeting of

March 6th. After some discussion , Professor Anderson

 

 

made the substitute motion that a general rule be passed
prohibiting hazing in this institution.

The motion was seconded and carried my a majority.

President Barker than read a recommendation irom
hr. Hull of the Y.l,C.A., with reference to the attendance
on chapel services of members of the faculty and the

students, as follows:

Inasmuch as attendance at the weekly convocation
is not compulsory, and realizing the necessity of re-
moving all hindrances that prevent voluntary attend-
ance, we, the faculty of the University of Kentucky,
do hereby resolve

That - heginning with Yednesduy, March 25, 1914,
all recitation rooms, reading rooms, public offices,
libraries, drafting rooms and laboratories on the
campus must be emptied of students and no meetings
culled by members of the faculty or students allowed
therein, during the weekly convocation occurring from
9:45 to 10:40 A.t. each Wednesday.

That no meetings or gatherings of students must
be held in the halls of any building or outdoors on the
campus during the above hour.

That candy or refreshment sales must not be held

during the above hour in any building or at any en-

Prof. Anderson offered a substitute motion with refer—

ence to faculty attendance on chapel as follows:
