Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- The Bach family moved to the United States from Germany in the latter part of the 1700s. They resided in Virginia, Tennessee, and Eastern Kentucky. Bach family members often married Caudills; their families have a long history of unions.
- Scope and Content
- The Bach family history and genealogy papers contain a detailed account of the Bach family beginning with the family's emigration from Germany in the mid-1700s. They include the family lineage, with known birth, marriage, and death dates noted, as well as a chronicle of how the family came to reside in the United States. The documents also record the history and genealogy of several other families from the area that were associated with the Bachs. The collection is organized alphabetically by surname and is then further divided by region, such as state and county.
