Collection Overview

Biography / History
Edward Clark was a resident of Lexington, Kentucky, from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century.
Scope and Content
The Edward Clark papers include two diaries, one scrapbook, two family ledgers, and one folder of family papers and newspaper clippings. One diary is a line-a-day diary from 1900 to 1929; there are only sporadic entries. The second diary is Clark's private diary during his attendance at Wesleyan Academy from 1891 to 1892. The scrapbook is dated around 1900 and contains newspaper clippings of birth announcements, etc... Both family ledgers are dated 1900 to 1934 and include information such as family trips, lists of births, marriages, deaths, and other significant dates; they also include a copy of Joseph Clark's will (Edward Clark's father) and some extracts from Joseph Clark's journal. The folder of loose papers is a mixture of concert programs, newspaper clippings, report cards, one restaurant receipt, and one school essay.
