Scope and Content
The Sunshine Treble Club minutes (dated 1902-1904; 0.04 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprises a single journal documenting the minutes and proceedings of a youth club named The Sunshine Treble Club during the early 1900's. This journal belonged to the club's secretary, who was Edith Hancock at the time. The club was made up of around twenty members, as well as five officers. Proceedings were as followed: roll call, an opening song, the reading of the minutes and a closing song. Members not present were to donate two cents to the club upon their next meeting. These donations were to be used for "charitable purposes". The journal states that the club was to meet twice a month and meetings were documented from December 1902 to April 1904.
The Sunshine Treble Club minutes collection is part of the Wade Hall Collection of American letters, which includes correspondence and diaries from all over North America covering the time period of the Civil to Korean Wars. The materials were collected by Wade Hall and document everyday men and women.
