             Biographical/Historical note 
             T. H. Carson was a tailor in North Middletown. It was settled early in the nineteenth century and became part of the city of Paris, Kentucky. Carson was working as a tailor as early as 1832. 
         
         
             Scope and Contents note 
             The T. H. Carson account books contain the business records of a tailor in North Middletown, Bourbon County, Kentucky. They consist of four ledgers. Three ledgers list names of customers, items of clothing, which he made, dry-good items sold, and prices paid. These three ledgers appear to have been used by Nelson S. Benthall. The fourth volume lists customers followed by a list of numbers which are very likely measurements. The cover appears to be marked
