A,copy of the AAUP Faculty Salary and Merit Review Report for 1974-
1975; published by the UK chapter of AAUP,is available in the
Director's Office. The report covers only the full—time instructional
staff. However, some information on librarian‘s salaries is included.

The Ufrector's Office is pleased to announce the appointments of
David Farrell and Rhoda Channing. David will fill the cataloging
position and Rhoda will continue as Business Librarian.

Bindery Preparations, under the direction of Ms. Jessie Adams, is
now a section of the Periodicals — CSR Unit. Jessie will continue

SPECIAL ASSIGHMEEI
Effective July l, 1975, Jean Graef will be designated a special
·assistant to Ruth Brown (Special Assistant to the Associate Director).
This will be temporary one·year assignment with the following primary
tasks:
1. Coordinate the application of the BATAB program to
nonmbook accounting. J
2. Serve as a library liaison with the UK Computing Center.
3. Investigate the possibility of computer applications in
Circulation.

 As many of you know, the NCR accounting machine in Acquisitions is
scheduled to be replaced in the coming fiscal year when Acquisitions
changes to BATAB for book accounting. The NCRHmChi¤€is also pre- ·
sently utilized for the nen-book accounting which is done by Eva in
the Director°s Office. Plans call for utilizing the BATAB program
to accommodate the Library's non—book accounting (funds for payroll,
supplies, equipment, travel, photocopying, etc.). Jean will work
in her present office. Circulation will function in the future as
it presently does. Mary Elizabeth Verrill will continue to be in
charge of Circulation in Jean's absence. It may be possible to add
another staff member to circulation after July l, and if this done,
any new position will be advertised as such and open to all staff
members.
