 It is distinct ly understood that the hotel was erected primarily for the -
purpose of taking care of the employes working in the office, store, market, club,
etc., and there are no single moms aval lsble. Because of lack of space we find it
impossible to take care of married couples and any departure from this rule must be
made in the office. The housekeeper is expected to arrange the doubling up in the
rooms, managing this so that parties occupying the rooms will have congenial com-
panions wherever it is possible.
It is expected that the manager will as nearly as possible arrange to
give the older employes preference of the more desirable rooms when vacancies
occur, providing of course that these older employes conduct themselves progrly.
It goes without saying that the company will not countenance drinkipg
and boisterous conduct in the building. The house must be guiet after ten o’cl:ck
at night and the manager is expected to see that there is no loud talking and
laughig or arg other disturbance after this hour.
, The manager will notify all perti es that there is to be no dancing in _
the housg. Hall over postoffice is provided for this purpose.
The manager will see to it that furniture, such as chairs, rugs, etc. ,
shall not be moved from one room to another without special permission. This
creates an injustice to some of the boarders in the hotel and leaves some of the
rooms bare of furniture while others have a surplus. The furniture in each one
of these rooms is matched and when odd pieces are found in rooms thgy should be
tg; en back where they be lopg. The manager will please go over the rooms and egg
that the furniture is properly distributed in justice to all the occupants of the
building, and that §j,tt;`ng {gpm fu;·nj3;gg;g is ng; pu; in php bgd regs. You will
appreciate the fact that th g' sipgipg rogm furnitgrg ga; boggphg for ghe enjpymegt
of evegy one in the building, and not for Q ggcial few, and that it therefore
properly belongs in the sitting room where every one can have the use of it.
There has been much criticism of girls and boys sitting on stairway
and hanging around upstairs bed room halls to talk to each other. Please gee to
it that this praptice is discontinued immediatel~g. Porch, read ing room and
lobby provide anple room for this purpose.
