Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Nathaniel Gray Rochester was born January 28, 1889 in Marion, Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky from 1908-1912 and graduated with an A.B. degree in Arts and Sciences. While attending the University, Rochester was involved with the Patterson Literary Society, of which he served as treasurer. He was also a member of the Patterson Society, the Debating Team, and Varsity Baseball (1908). He served as class representative and class orator, and was also valedictorian for his graduating class.
- Scope and Content
- The Nathaniel Gray Rochester scrapbook contains news clippings, photographs, programs, and personal correspondence documenting Rochester's time as a student at the University of Kentucky, 1908-1912. Rochester graduated in 1912. Subjects of the photographs include athletics, an all faculty group portrait, individual faculty portraits, and unidentified school buildings. Clippings also relate to baseball activities in which he participated.
