In 1922, it became the Lexington Water Company and took its current name, Kentucky American Water, in 1973. The company serves portions of 14 Kentucky counties, including Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Jackson, Jessamine, Nicholas, Owen, Rockcastle, Scott and Woodford.
