Rush Haslianah is a time of reflection. at time of
evaluation. As we face the beginning of5761 we look
back on 5760. I believe we can be proud on how far
we have come and we can look forward to how far we
will come in the next year. On behalf of the Board of
Trustees and Committee members of the Central
Kentucky Jewish Federation, I want to wish all the
members of our community a healthy, fruitful and
peaceful New Year. May the year to come see our

As we approach the New Year, we do so with a
sense of wonderment and renewal for the coming year.

These are the Days of Awe and a time of reflection and
prayer so that may we all be inscribed into the Book of

Life on Rosh Hashana and sealed in it on Yom Kippur.
We look back on the year gone by to see if our accom-
plishments met our goals. Let us look forward to a
year of growth and cooperation in our community. On
behalf of the members of the Lexington Havurah, I
wish for all members of the Lexington and Central
Kentucky Jewish Community L’ Shana Tova
Tichateivu V’Tichateimu, a happy, healthy, successful
and prosperous year.

On behalf of Ohavay Zion, it is my pleasure to wish
everyone a very Happy New Year. We are fortunate to
be members of a vibrant, wonderful Jewish commu-
nity. That may sound strange to some people who view
Lexington as a backwater, but visitors to Lexington
regularly comment on the quality oflife in general and
the vigor ofour Jewish community. May. the k oming

The High Holidays give us the opportunity to step
aside from our everyday life and examine the wonders
that fill our world. We are all fortunate to be part of a
vibrant Jewish community that is dedicated to Torah,
avodah, and g‘ milut chasadim — Torah, worship, and
deeds of loving—kindness. May we continue to join
together to learn, worship, and make this a better
world.

On behalf of Temple Adath Israel and my family, I
would like to wish everyone in the Jewish community
our best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year.
