Dear Victor

Many thanks for the pictures- they are just the
kind of thing I am looking for, and I like St
Notburga. I like her intelligent and alert expression
(even though I think the most pure tradition of
sacred art demands that the saint look a bit gaga
and withdrawn) and find it very edifying. It will
certainly add to the collection I am trying to get
together for the book.

I cannot however let you have the manuscript as
yet since all the copies are in the hands of censors.
May God preserve me from their worst imdiosyncrasies.

The letter that we could not find in the car,
turned up, as expected, tucked between the pages of
one of the books-— I return it herewith.

But now I can't find you own letter, the one
I am trying to ansver; hat I remember the main busine:
matter it contained. The price of the covers. This
is a little higher than I expected, so let us just
cover 50 of the books, and the rest will have to
be covered in a simpler‘manner here at the abbey.

I think we can still do something decent. The
main thing will be the good fifty.

In haste I go on to a pile of letters I have
to write. God bless you both.

Devotedly in Our Lord

I have an idea for another short thing like Prometheus—
I can keep it on ice if in the future you would like
to print it. It is not yet written out.
