Project #2266 District 4: Polk berry and walnut bark ink, used in 1800, make deciphering county records a difficult task on the Knox County Cross Indexing Project. To date 96,760 index cards have been copied and typed against original records with 10,000 records typed on permanent sheets. Twenty thousand deeds and 3,200 licenses have been checked against original records. This work is being done under Project #2266.
