- Biography / History
- Children's author and teacher, Augusta Stevenson (1869-1976) wrote over 400 books. She is well known for the series Childhood of Famous Americans and Children's Classics in Dramatic Form. She began teaching in Indianapolis Public schools in 1908.
- Scope and Content
- The Augusta Stevenson manuscript (dated circa 1955; 0.23 cubic feet; 1 box) comprises a manuscript for Stevenson's children's book Tecumseh, Shawnee Boy. The manuscript has annotations and edits in several different hands.
