Biography / History
Children's author and teacher, Augusta Stevenson (1869-1976) wrote over 400 books. She is well known for the series Childhood of Famous Americans and Children's Classics in Dramatic Form. She began teaching in Indianapolis Public schools in 1908.
Scope and Content
The Augusta Stevenson manuscript (dated circa 1955; 0.23 cubic feet; 1 box) comprises a manuscript for Stevenson's children's book Tecumseh, Shawnee Boy. The manuscript has annotations and edits in several different hands.
