- Biography / History
- Colonel Medley Shelton was a popular innkeeper and politician in Versailles, Kentucky. He was the Woodford County representative in the Kentucky Legislature in 1842, and entertained such prominent figures as Henry Clay and the Breckinridges at his establishment.

- Scope and Content
- The Medley Shelton papers contain records from the Shelton Tavern in Versailles, Kentucky. The materials include an account book with entries from 1830 to 1832 and an indexed accounts ledger dating from 1846 to 1874 which includes a hotel register from the Shelton Tavern.
