Job Darbin Turner was a University of Kentucky graduate, class of 1898, who served as Alumni Association secretary from 1913-1916. Turner later served as head of the Department of Commercial Fields at the University of Kentucky Agricultural Experiment Station, circa 1937 and headed a project to secure a portrait of then president James K. Patterson.   The  Job Darbin Turner Alumni Association papers  consist of correspondence, clippings, and records. The papers consist of correspondence and expense records from1898. The correspondence, along with letters and telegrams, concern various University of Kentucky class members and their activities. The expense records are comprised predominantly of receipts for expenditures made by Turner for Alumni Association activities or publications. Also included are several newspapers referencing Mr. Merry Lewis Pence, who served as a professor of Physics and is best know for his experimental work with X-rays. The newspapers in folders 6-9 are fragile and damaged.  This collection is arranged by subject in folders.
