- Scope and Content
- The Vesta Club minutes (dated 1909-1918; 0.03 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprise one journal that documents the regular meetings of the Vesta Club, of Williamsburg, Ohio, during the peak of the women's club movement in the early twentieth century. The club meets regularly throughout the years, only taking time off in the summer months, and includes a number of women at various stages of life from Williamsburg, Ohio. The meetings were used as a means of educating the members on the social, political, and environmental aspects of the world by using different themes each year to cover as much information as possible. Topics included non-American cultures, food and alcohol legislation, war, politics, and other social movements spearheaded by women and women's organizations.
- The Vesta Club minutes are part of the Wade Hall Collection of American letters, which includes correspondence and diaries from all over North America covering the time period of the Civil to Korean Wars. The materials were collected by Wade Hall and document everyday men and women.
