21 May, my. 1p. (half of a double sheet,
octave.)

This letter is written to the compiler of the

famous Thesaurus, who was also a well-lmown physician
and a mechanist. Faraday inquires about a paper
written by "Mr. Swanson" (probably William Swainson,
1789-1855, a naturalist, and like Faraday and

Reget, a Fellowoi‘ the Royal Society). He also
wonders if Regret will not have a. short paper
available "on the curves or something else."
