Dear hiss mason:

Doubtless before this you have had advice from
other sources, on account of my tardiness, but I have
not known just what to say in answer to your letter.
we are of course glad to send our own publications

together with the latest issue of the Legislative

Manual and of hurlin's med Book. I think, however,

you would have more help from the Library of Congress,

or the Superintendent of Documents in Washington, who

should be able to supply the Congressional Directory

and the Statistical Abstract of the United States.

Mr Creel's Committee on Public Information will doubt—

less be ready to forward all its literature, including the

President's war nessages and statements by men of eminence

in various fields. I wonder if it would not be best for

you to communicate, say with Monsieur hebier, or with some
¢9u

one of the French Commission. Doubtless such requests as

the one which has reached you have gone to many others, and
it would seem that the collection would best be made through

one center. 1 know this is done for Russia through a committee
which is sending out a list of books desired.

Sincerely y 5
Miss C. E. Mason
