My dear Kenealy — I am quite vexed that I have not been able to write to you for the last few days, but I have been knocking about the coast, and idling my time most atrociously. I was in a tremendous rage at finding that Mortimer had had the impudence to insert your "Captain Bobadil" in his last number. Upon my word, I think it the coolest thing I ever knew done and if it does not originate in Rodin‘s advice it is worthy of him. If you were aware of the Circumstance, I make no doubt you have written a strong letter. If not, I need but counsel you what to do. The article being inserted against your inclination I should insist upon Ten Guineas per sheet payment for it. I have desired my advertising agent to send you Mortimer's printed card of advertising in his mage. His charge is £5.5. per page and I believe you had only 1 page. Proceed against him and you will recover; but do not delay, for he is on his last legs — Badly as he has used most of us, he has comported himself more impudently towards you than towards any one. Ever Yours W. Harrison Ainsworth ("Captain Bobadil", a part played by Charles Dickens in "Every Man in his Humour")
