I have a letter from Carl Jacobs ?dvising that
Indiana Harbor Works has an ovnr supplv of
?yrene fire extinguishers, #C-1§, of tut/2m
at. capacity. They are new and have never been
used and have the meme of Inland gtenl Compnnv
stamped on the case.
The prefix C before tho number indicates thrt
thov arm good For electricel Fires. The original
cast of those extinfinishers is $10 but they wi‘1 .
be sunoliefl to us at n 003* of $5.
We have in the nest tried to get away from Pyrono
fire extinguishers, and I anestion whether wn
want to again adopt the use of this type ex- .
tinynishors since we have more or loss standardized
on other tvnec.
However, if we have need for exttnauishern of this
tvno as nrntection against electrical fires, we
might consider taking adventana of the offer of
the Indiana Harbor Works.
Pleaw‘let me know if you feel we Should get any
of these eveilphio extinguishers.

Wheelwright, Kentucky
Att: Mr. L. S. Becker, Supt. Buildings & Grounds Dept.
Dear Mr. Becker:
We have your letter of November Euth, and appreciate your calling
this matter to our attention. Its pretty hard to try to discuss
with you just what the life of a hose on an extinguisher should be ~
a lot of things must be taken into consideration. Especially, atmos—
pheric conditions which always attack rubber, with which you are no
doubt familiar.
We are going to ask our representative in that territory, Mr. A. J.
Smith of Sassafras, Kentucky to drop in on you at his earliest con—
venience and I am sure that you and he can go over this matter. In-
asmuch as Mr. Smith has had quite a bit of experience along these
lines, I am sure that you can arrive at a satisfactory agreement.
We shall appreciate any consideration shown Mr. Smith.

Sincerely yours,

THE FYR—FYTER COMPANY

As you rely on your doctor or lawyer, so should you depend on the professional
ability of your nearby Fyr-Fyter Sales and Service representative:
Fyr»Fyter Sales (3 Service
Mt A, J Smith
Sassafras, Kentucky
(PhoneHAzard I804aF22)

He and his associates have been trained in all phases of fire protection . . .
whether such protection is afforded by a municipal fire department, an industrial or
commercial fire department or by the fire equipment best suited for installation in the
average home.

Your Fyr-Fyter Sales and Service representative knOWs where the responsibilities
of the municipal fire department both begin and end and hence is in a much better position ~—
through experience and training -— to recommend the supplementary fire equipment that
should be installed in the office, industry and home, etc.

He also appreciates the true value of fire prevention and fire insurance . . . the
limitations of both . . . and their relation to planned and logical fire protection programs.

It was at his suggestion that we mail you regular monthly issues of the Fyr-Fyter
News in the hope that this educational publication would provide you with a much better
understanding of the science of fighting fire. We hope you will like the News . . . the
manner in which the articles are written . . . along with the many photographs showing
our products at work. The satisfied-customer stories appearing in the News, we are sure,
will prompt you to call your nearby Fyr-Fyter Sales and Service representative whenever
confronted with like or similar fire equipment problems of your own.
