The properties of the Hheelwright operations wenelrecently insured with
the Factory Insurance Associstion against/loss-£rQn .lre in. ageinst
direct losses from other hazards which are listed subsequently.
It is the purpose of this letter to Acquaint you invn general sort of
way with the kinds of insurance protection we hove under this new policy
without going into many of the deteils.//In this way, you any inform me
of losses we might sustain. for which we are covered, and wnich 1 night
not be made swore of if you were notksqghainted with the broad type of

Following is a brief outlinciuf thc more salient features of this new
insurance policy: / i“ ~__"7 '

1.) All surfnoe instellations such as dwellings, commercial
buildings of all descriptions, fans, substations, trans-
former stations, ctc., are protected under the policy.
Underground‘subststions and the Motor Bern are also
protected. Building contents owned by Inland are
covered except for iteua such as accounts, bills,
currency, deeds, securities, etc. Also materialu and
equipment owned by others. including personal property,
are likewise protected against damage, under this policy,
to the extent of Inland's interest and liability in some.

2.) Hazards protected against include:

a.) Fire from whatever cause.

b.) Windstorm and hail, including damage resulting from
other elements such as water, rain, snow or sand,
because of initial wind or hailstorm dsmsge.

For example, if a windstorm should tear off part of

building causing other damage, the policy would
protect against such dusage by the wind and snow
both. If damage should be caused by excessive
snow load without contributory wind or hail damage,
such damage would not be covered.

c.) Exolosion of accumulated gases in the combustion
chamber of a fired vessel or in flues. Does not
cover loss from explosion or rupture of steam
boilers or steam lines. However, a loss from this
source is covered by a separate insurance policy
with another company.

d.) Riots, riots attending a strike an? civil commotion.

e.) Aircraft,or objects falling fromfiaircreft, and vehicles,
where there is actual physical contact with the pro-
perty insured. There is no protec ion abdihat damage
to property caused by inland's vehihles.

5.) Water or other substance discharged from within fire

h.) Vandalism andImalicious mischief, but not including
damage to window glass, theft and pilferage.

If you have any speCific questions regarding the above, let me know and
I will try to furnish the shiver.
Please notify me lumedietély of any circumstance or occurrence from which
damage or loss may ensuey’even though it may appear doubtfully or only
remotely consistent with the above conditions.
Insofar as practical, all supervisory personnel in your cepartment should
also be informed concerning this subject.

When Mr. Leedy of the Factory Insurance Agency was here, he made
some recommendations which Mr. Zimmerman wishes us to carry out.

,' ceiling. This was probably done to eliminate
drafts. ,
It seems to me we might seal between the pipes
with a fireproof insulating material or close
the gap with metal.

3.) The hood over the kitchen stove in the Clubhouse
had some heavy accumulations of grease and oil to
which Mr. Leedy Objected.
In order to help promote good housekeeping here, a‘ an if
