Biography / History
Nichols moved from Rhode Island to Danville, Kentucky in 1804. His brother, Joshua, arrived in 1810.
Scope and Content
This collection contains microfilmed letters written by Jonathan Ball Nichols, an early Kentucky settler, and his family. The letters were chiefly written to relatives in Rhode Island. They describe Jonathan's first trip to Kentucky, his business transactions, social conditions in Kentucky, impressions of the War of 1812, and personal news.
