- Agriculturalist, Politician. Cassius M. Clay, Jr, the youngest son of Brutus Clay, was born in 1846. Like his namesake, the younger Cassius attended Yale University, graduating in the class of 1866. He served in both houses of the Kentucky General Assembly in the 1870's and 1880's. He presided at the convention held in the 1890 and 1891 which drew up a new state constitution.

- Photostat of a personal scrapbook kept by Cassius M. Clay Jr. It includes text of speeches, campaign documents, handbills, and clippings of articles written by C. M. Clay, Jr. from Lexington, Ky. and Washington newspapers (many unidentified).
