"It's a problem," says Mr. Gardner as he does a science demonstration.

Having Mr. Jess Gardner as class sponsor for three years has given this senior class numerous experiences to
cherish--hours of perpetual humor, esteemed advice, and the benefit of his vast store of knowledge. His insistence

on planning the future and facing problems realistically has helped the seniors reach maturity.
In appreciation and reSpect the senior class dedicates the 1961 PURPLE AND WHITE to Mr. Gardner with the

sincere apology that it is not a red Corvette.

Mr. Stofer discusses problems of the day with
Judy Roach as Hal Scott listens.

Mr. Kemper explains to Betty Newbury how so many things can

come out of a test tube. The arm holding the test tubes belongs

to Sammy Adams.

Mrs. Jobert, Miss Roser and Mrs. Cocanougher enjoy a Cup of coffee before faculty meet—
ing begins.

STUDENT r
-- COUNCIL

Student Council underwent major changes this
.......
year. The two bodies of a council and a government 1
were combined into one union. A Code of Ethics was
written. It held the standards of the council and was
to be the basis of conduct for students. The organization
was to be run by the student representatives with advice
from faculty members.
