COMMENCEMENT
The 115th University of Kentucky commencement will be held on ‘
Saturday, May 8th in Memorial Coliseum. The speaker will be Thomas
Wicker, Associate Editor and Columnist for the NEW YORK TIMES and
Ashland Professor at the University of Kentucky. All faculty are
invited to assemble in academic attire in front of Memorial Coliseum at
3:30 p.m.
LIBRARIANS PUBLISHING AND SPEAKING
Russell Powell will be editing the second edition of HANDBOOKS AND
TABLES IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (HTST). The first edition, published
_ by 0ryx Press, has sold over 2,000 copies to major industrial, public,
academic, and government libraries in the United States. The second
edition of HTST is due in 1983.
Russell has also been invited to present a paper at the 90th Annual
Conference of the American Society for Engineering Education at Texas A
and M University on June 21, 1982. The paper entitled "Publishing
Opportunities for Engineering Librarians" will appear as part of the
published proceedings of the meeting. Other speakers at the conference
include Eugene B. Jackson of the University of Texas, Jim Kyed of M.I.T. q
and Judy Garodnick, editor-in-chief of R.R. Bowker. 2
