Collection Overview

Biography / History
George Varden was a native of Norfolk County, England. He graduated from Georgetown College in 1858. George Varden held pastorates at a number of central Kentucky churches, including the Paris Baptist Church.
Scope and Content
The George Varden papers consists of three scrapbooks which have clippings kept by George Varden, a central Kentucky Baptist minister. The clippings are of sermons published in newspapers. Most of the sermons were authored by Varden, although a few other writers are represented in the collection.
