- Biography / History
- Ralph Babb was the project superintendent on the construction of the Medical Science Building at the University of Kentucky. He was employed by Foster and Creighton Construction Company. Ralph was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and a registered civil engineer in the state of Tennessee. He took the building photographs during 1958-1959.
- The Medical Science Building, now known as William R. Willard Medical Education Building named for the first dean of the college, was dedicated in 1960 and in that same year the University of Kentucky enrolled its first medical school class. Four years later, the College of Medicine graduated its first class of 32 students.
- Scope and Content
- The Ralph Babb photographs contain sixty one, 35mm color transparencies (predominantly Kodachrome) relating to various stages of construction of the Medical Science Building at the University of Kentucky in 1958-1959.
