- Biography / History
- Lloyd Brinkley "Feller" Ramsey (1918-2016) was a native of Somerset, Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky (1936-1940) as a scholarship football player and member of the university Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). After graduation, he was commissioned a Second Lietenant in the regular army and served as a career military officer (1940-1970) in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

- Scope and Content
- The Lloyd "Feller" Ramsey University of Kentucky football and Somerset, Kentucky, slides (dated 1936 September-1937 April, undated; 1 box) comprise 7 rolls of black-and-white slide film (5 positive, 2 negative) depicting University of Kentucky football players and practice; University of Kentucky men's dormitory life and male students; Somerset, Kentucky, high school football practice, recreation, and Ramsey friends and family, 1936 September-1937 April; and horse races at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky (1936).
- The Somerset images include a set of photographs of the exterior and interior of a log cabin, including men and boys sitting around the exterior; a field on which football players are practicing; a river in which young men are wading and bathing; football practices and scrimages; and an African American man in a doorway who may be a cook. The University of Kentucky images include football practices and games, Stohl football field and streets and buildings around the field, football players, and exterior and interior images of buildings and dormitories. In some of the images, Ramsey is wearing a neck brace. There is also a photograph of an empty plaster cast of a male upper torso. There are also photographs of cars and motorcycles; bridges, roads, and a ferry; knives and guns on display on a wall; lambs and sheep in a field; a few hilly landscapes; the race track, horses, and spectators at Churchill Downs (Louisville, Ky.), and men, women, boys, and girls (but predominantly men and boys).
