Biography / History
Minister. John Allen Gano was born in Georgetown, Ky. His father was a merchant and his grandfather had been a chaplain with the American Army during the Revolutionary War. Gano became a minister in the newly-formed Disciples of Christ church.
Scope and Content
This collection contains letters, marriage records, and documents which belonged to John Allen Gano. Some of the letters are from Barton Stone, who is considered to be the founder of the Disciples of Christ. Others are from John B. Bowman and Thomas M. Allen.
