- Owned by a family who lived in Maysville, Kentucky, during the 1950s and 1960s. The family was involved in investigating Presbyterian clergy for ties to supposed Communist organizations.

- The Red Scare in the Presbyterian Church Collection (dated 1944-1962, undated; 0.68 cubic feet; 2 boxes) consists of printed materials, pamphlets, publications, newspaper clippings, and correspondence documenting the Red Scare in Maysville, Kentucky, and in the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. The materials were collected by a family in Maysville, Kentucky, involved in investigating Presbyterian clergy for ties to supposed Communist organizations. The bulk of the collection consists of printed materials about Communism and its relation to Christianity in America, including the Presbyterian church and the Methodist church; education; the Daughters of the American Revolution’s efforts to control Communist content in school textbooks; the recognition of China; the NAACP; and Hollywood. The majority of the publications and pamphlets were published by America's Future and the House Committee on Un-American Activities. The collection contains a small amount of correspondence accusing specific Presbyterian figures of Communist ties.
