CUR THANKS to Milton Beer, Ben Goldfarb, and Dr. Irving Kanner for their assistance
in reading the afternoon service on Yom Kippur.

THE FLOWERS on Yom Kippur were the offering of Mrs. Jonas weil, in memory of her
husband, Mrs. Sol Bloomfield, in memory of her father, and Mr. David Kahn, in
memory of Fannie, Sol, and Leon Kahn.

WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE the work of the entire choir during the Holydays. We are
especially grateful to Mrs. Harold Baker, who so capably directs our choir, to
Alan Levy for his special solos, and to Mrs. Paul Bentley, who with very little
notice sang the soprano parts for Yom Kippur, when Mrs. Baker was unable to sing
due to a sore throat.

OUR THANKS to Mrs. Morris Baker and her committee who will be in charge of the
Sukos reception sunday evening.

AT THE SISTERHOOD meeting Wednesday. October 20th, two books dealing with the
brotherhood of man will be presented by Mrs. Irving Gail and Mrs. Al weiss in a
new, unusual, and diverting fashion for "book reviews". The titles are Cary

Mo Williams' "A Mask for Privelege", and Thomas Sugrue's "Stranger in the Earth".
These arcing: novels, but they will be presented in a novel manner:

S.O.S.--After our 8.0.8. collection was made in good faith, the policy was tempo-
rarily changed by national to include only new garments, particularly layettes.
We are following the policy adopted by other cities of having a rummage sale of
old clothes collected and using the proceeds to buy the much needed layettes.
However, clothing received in new condition will be shipped to New York. In the
event anyone would like their used clothing returned, because of this change of
policy, Please contact mrs. A.H. Fogel at 8275—Y.

Please continue having Religious School children bring canned milk and baby food
each Sunday, as the need is greater than ever.

THE GREETING FROM RABBI AND MRS. LEWIS to the congregation which was read in Temple
at Rosh Hashana services made us very happy. we would like to reprint the entire
letter, but space prevents us from so doing. We quote one paragraph." Though a
considerable distance now separates us,our hearts and minds have not yielded to
this separation. We think of you often and recall the pleasant days of our asso—
ciation together. At this season, the unity of our prayers, in speech and in
thought, will make us conscious of the spiritual tie that binds us all together."

WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL to Mr. Morris Levy, Mr. Irving Levy, and mr. Al Strauss who
are building the outside Suka for us this year in memory of Mrs. Morris Levy. The
Suka will be so built that it can be dismantled, stored away, and used from year
to year.

MR. I.J. PARITZ has generously volunteered again to decorate the garden Suka for us.
MRS. ALFRED WEISS will be in charge of the decoration of the pulpit Suka.

THE SISTERHOOD TEA for the college girls in Lexington will take place Sunday
afternoon, October 24.
