WWWSM,

Over the winter vacation Alana, Billy and I were in Florida for ten
days , Alana had never been there before, it was a sightseeing trig
rather than a sitting trip, As a result we were not in any one place

very long. our moving about also permitted us to visit with family
friends, some of whom we lad not seen in many years. The ties that
bind remain over the years. Neither time nor distance Can loosen the
attachments we have for loved ones. We were able to pickup the re-
lationships almost immediately.

Relatedness is really what makes life worthwhile — tlat we can love
other people, share their concerns, feel a part of their lives, even if
we do not see them regularly. One of the saddest moments I ever had
was to officiate at a fur Aeral to which only two or three people came.
App arentl this person' 5 life had meant so little that Vrdly anyone
bothered to make the effort to note its end.

It is what we give in life tlat counts ~ how we relate to other
people - th Aat is the meas me of who and wAnt we are as human beinus.
Sadly, funerals are the most telling illustrati.on of the irportancc.
Our visits during our tri: brouq:it oack triis awarenes~. He ouo}.t not
wait till "death does us part" to say thanKs for tAie sharing, for the
love, for the caring. Such graditude is never out of style.

Have a grateful New Year.

 ATTENTION” ALL TAI MEMBERS

TAX members are same of the brightest, most interesting, and most in-
terested people in Lexington. However, even the brightest of us may find
it difficult to keep up with the explosion of ideas and technology taking
place in today's world. when you hear RAM, do you still think of male.
sheep? Do you think a continuous loop is something on an interstate high—
way? On the pihor hand, those of us who have managed to keep abreast
;n.h110 (”ally have often done so by consigning so many interests to that
nebulous world of "Someday". when will you ever have the time to paint or

learn calligraphy or entertain?
If you fall into one of those nivhog, sisterhood can help YOU break

out: TAI Sisterhood is moving into 1983 with new vitality, and we want to
invite you to venture with us - to discover new worlds within yourself and
around you! We will be Offering a number of short courses, demonstrations
and lectures that will meet once a week for periods of two to six weeks.
They will cover a wide range of interests so that there Rhnnld be some-
thing to appeal to cvurymnn in nur FHHULOJnf;fn men, women, profeSSionals,
marrieds, singles, etv. There will be topics that are intellectually stim—
ulating'and some that are "just fOr'fun".. . These classes are E92 for
"Sisterhood members only". They are open to everyone in our congregation!
For some classes there will be a fee to cover expenses. Perhaps some of
these classes will be the seeds out of which will grow special interest
groups that will wish to continue meeting.

"Renewal for the future" — "Blooming where we are planted" - Marvelous
slogans replete with layers of meaning: Our building and renovation pro-
gram is indeed blooming. How appropriate it would be if this year each of
us would resolve to "renew for the future" - to let our intellect, our
conciousness, and our talents bloom.
