- Amateur historian and genealogist Patty M. Biddle (1923-2014) was a long-time resident of Paris, Kentucky. She also compiled the historical background for the Bourbon County Bi-centennial Commemorative Book (1986) and wrote a detailed history of Bourbon County that was never published. In addition to her work as a genealogist, Biddle served in the United States Navy WAVES during World War II and worked at the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot for over 30 years.

- The Patty M. Biddle Kentucky Straight Bourbon manuscript (dated 1979; 0.45 cubic feet; 1 box) consists of a photocopied manuscript compiled by genealogist Patty M. Biddle of marriages and deaths in Bourbon County, Kentucky, and surrounding counties from 1808-1865. These marriages and deaths were recorded from the Western Citizen Newspaper (Paris, Ky.).
- The manuscript is divided into two volumes. The lists of marriages are arranged alphabetically by the first letter of the surname of the man. Immediately following is the woman's name, her place of residence (and his place of residence if other than Bourbon County), the date of the marriage and, included occasionally, the name of the person officiating at the ceremony. Each entry is preceded by the date that the marriage announcement appeared in the newspaper. Deaths are also recorded alphabetically by the first letter of the surname of individuals followed by the first name. As in the marriage entries, each death entry is preceded by the newspaper date in which it appeared and is followed by the actual death date. Many of the obituaries include long descriptive biographies and detailed information about family members. Throughout the two volumes are photocopied newspaper clippings of marriages and deaths.
