Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Hollis Summers (1916-1987) was a Kentucky born author, poet, and English professor at Georgetown College, University of Kentucky, and Ohio University.
- James Still (1906-2001) was a poet, short story writer, children's author, novelist, folklorist, teacher and librarian. Although born in Alabama, Still spent most of his life in Kentucky and centered many of his writings around the coal fields of eastern Kentucky.

- Scope and Content
- The Summers and Still papers consist of five Hollis Summers poems and James Still's "Mrs. Razor". All five poems are signed and include "Sing a Song for Easter", "For Distinguished Service", "La Hora de la Verdad", "King's X", and "Advice to Another Man's Son". James Still's manuscript is inscribed "For Laura Roberts - who will remember how we laughed on July 24, 1952. James Still."
