Biography / History
The City Roller mill was first established as a woolen factory and operated under various titles including Woolen Manufacturer; Hayman Co.; and Woolley Hayman. George Woolley, C. H. Woolley and J. Q. A. Hayman were owners and operators.
Scope and Content
The City Roller Mill records are comprised of the various record books and ledgers (1852-1897) of a woolen mill (1834-1870) and, later, a flour mill (1892-1897) in Lexington, Ky. Included in the collection are cashbooks, daybooks, journals and ledgers, inventory books, an invoice book, an order book and a ticket book, which may also be a distillery record. The books record daily financial transactions related to the business.
