P Library Faculty Annual Meeting
The theme of this year's annual meeting at Shakertown, IA
September 8, is "The Planning Document: Reality vs. ‘
Utopia.“ The meeting will include Dr. Cochran's remarks
on the administration‘s reaction to the Planning Document ·
and the library faculty's examination of the feasibility
of goals stated in the document in view of fiscal reality.
.Dr. Cochran will make his remarks at 9:30 a.m. These h
remarks and the discussion which will follow should
provide information for the reality part of the group
discussion.
In the afternoon, the Library Faculty will break into small
' groups to discuss specific aspects of the Planning Document
( (one hour). Each group will have a discussion leader who
‘ is familiar with the overall planning for that aspect.
_  After a break, the entire faculty will re-assemble for group `
T reports and discussions (ca. one hour). I

l Wall Graphics Reviewed
In anticipation of the King South and North Buildings being (
. scheduled for painting in the next two years, the wall
graphics will be reviewed. The review will consider the
implications of any planned relocation of service points in
·the building. ’
n Responsibility for the coordination of graphics in the King
buildings has been assigned to the Public Services Division
and Dennis Dickinson. Branch needs should be made known to
Ruth Brown. Implementation of decisions reached in the
Public Services or Branches divisions will be the responsie
bility of Administrative Services. y ‘
A number of signs are essential prior to the start of the
fall semester and they will be completed without waiting for
the overall graphic review.

. KLA Car_PoolMFunding
The library has set aside some money for KLA (September 28-30;
Louisville) to fund car pools. If you will be driving a car
, pool and would like some travel money, please see Faith Harders.
King Stack Shift Completed
All the moving and compacting in King stacks has been completed.
Bob Turner and his student crew did a great job and finished
well in advance of the start of the fall semester. The
shifting sent 200's to the Core C level and 320~335 to the 3rd
floor addition of King South. The 2d floor addition now houses
the new LC collection along with 300w3l9 ~ at the far right end
of the floor.

A A second set of LC orientation sessions for staff and student
assistants will be offered next week.
