Collection Overview

Scope and Content
This diary was written by William Stucky, an adolescent, while on a trip to and from California. Stuckey left from Lexington, Kentucky with his mother to visit relatives in California. He notes stops in Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In one entry, Stucky discusses attending the church of controversial evangelist, Aimee Semple McPherson. He remarks that her church was "more like a theatre" (p. 25).
