Through the great hand-carved doorway into this hall came thousands of frontiersmen including Boone, Kenton and Stoner to be greeted by the landlord, Major Joseph Duncan, Revolutionary soldier of Virginia. This historic inn is one of three buildings which constitute a block of original pioneer architecture. Owned and operated by the Kentucky Society, D.A.R., it has been dedicated to Mary Desha, one of the four founders of the National Society, D.A.R. It is open to the public.")
