Scope and Content
The Jack W. Hamilton vaudeville scripts (dated 1913, undated; 0.90 cubic feet; 2 boxes) comprises scripts of vaudeville plays, one acts, and sketches that were performed by various acting troupes across the United States in the early twentieth century. Many of the scripts are actor scripts, where the lines of the character the actor plays are fully typed out and only the last few words of the proceeding character's lines are listed as a cue for the actor. There are a number of full scripts included in the collection; on the interior pages of some are hand-written stage directions and staging plans.
