Of course I saw you and congratulated you on being elected
President of the Southern Surgical association and I told
you how proud I was that you were a Lexington man and a friend
of ours here. I am sure you had so many to congratulate you
W V you probably don’t remember any of them so I am writing to

that the ?residency of the Southern Surgical Association is the
highest honor that can come to any surgeon of the South or
elsewhere for that matter and I know you feel the same about it.
I was very pleased with your speech of acceptance and do not think
it could have been stated a y better. I sincerely trust you will
have a fine year of it and another fine meeting at Birmingham
next December. ·
