- Although the author and date of the book are unknown, the author is a Kentucky woman with an interest in cooking and homekeeping from the latter part of the 19th century.

- The 19th century handwritten recipe book (circa 1880; 0.1 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprises one small 54 page notebook that contains personal recipes and homekeeping notes from an unknown Kentucky household. The book contains recipes for meat, soups, pickles, cakes, and puddings. There is also a recipe and instructions for disinfectant.
