Biography / History
General Robert Pogue was the commanding officer of the 1st Kentucky Volunteers in the War of 1812.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of a letter written by James K. Bunch of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, to General Robert Pogue, of Mason County, concerning Pogue's runaway slave named David who would like to return. Bunch begs mercy for the slave, using a religious comparison.
