Halpine (Miles O'Reilly)" handwritten along the bottom of the card; Benjamin Penhallow Shillaber (1814-1890) wrote a series of book before and after the Civil War featuring the satirical character of Mrs. Partington and was the editor of the magazine "Carpet Bag"; Brigadier General Charles Graham Halpine (1829-1868) served in the Union army and published under his own name and the pseudonym "Private Miles O'Reilly"
