Mary Didlake died in 1971 at the age of 96.
Mary Didlake's father, George Ware Didlake, was a prisoner with other Confederate soldiers at Johnson's Island, Ohio, during the Civil War.

Other notable items include scrapbooks that observe the deaths of Nannie Bain Didlake and Katherine Didlake and multiple autograph albums. One album that belonged to George W. Didlake contains the signatures of Confederate prisoners at the military prison on Johnson Island, Ohio.
