Collection Overview

Biography / History
Barber Gedney Clark, born in Port Chester, New York, 1936-2020, was a Lexington, Kentucky based clairvoyant and businesswoman. Barber graduated with a nursing degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1957. From 1960-1977, Barber owned and operated Barber Gross Associates and brokered high-end real estate in the Rye, New York and Greenwich, Connecticut. In the mid-1960s Barber's psychic abilities were tested by noted parapsychology researcher, J.B. Rhine. In 1977, Barber married Donald Clark and closed her real estate agency to focus on developing her psychic skills. In 1980 Barber and Donald relocated to Lexington, Kentucky. By 1981, Barber's visions about celebrities, politicians, the economy, etc. were reported on in regional newspapers. She regularly was a guest of regional radio shows and appeared on television news programs. During the mid-1980s, Barber Clark's predictions were included in national tabloid newspapers like The National Enquirer and The Sun. During the 2000s, Barber Clark offered her psychic talents and readings via websites. She also gave readings as a medium for Arieal, a woman with familial roots in 17th century Salem, Massachusetts.
