Biographical note
Kentucky geologist and historian, Willard Rouse Jillson (1890-1975) authored over 300 geological texts and numerous works pertaining to Kentucky history. Jillson served as the State Geologist of Kentucky from 1919-1932 as well as the director of the Sixth Kentucky Geological Survey from 1920-1921. Additionally, he taught geology at the University of Kentucky in 1918 and at Transylvania University in 1947. He died in 1975.

A Bibliography of Powell County Kentucky manuscript (dated 1960-1961; 0.23 cubic feet; 1 box) consists of a manuscript and typescript copy of A Bibliography of Powell County Kentucky. The manuscript is hand written and glued onto proof pages. The entries have been removed from the pages. The typescript copy has been annotated.
