Scope and Content
These are the records, on microfilm, of the Louisville Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of the U.S.A. The collection includes a written sketch of the Presbytery of Transylvania, minutes of Presbytery meetings from 1899 to 1950, a list of Presbytery meetings, with dates, places of meetings and the moderators' names. There are also records of ministers, ministerial candidates, commissioners to the General Assembly from 1915-1949, and a roll of the Presbytery. Also included in this microfilm collection are records of two churches from the Transylvania Presbytery, McFarland Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mt. Vernon, Ky. and Boyle Presbyterian Church, in Junction City, Ky. The McFarland Church's records date from 1915 through 1936, and consist of minutes of the session, a membership register, certificates of dismission and transfer, correspondence, and financial records.
The Boyle Church's records date from 1887 through 1942, and include minutes of the session, membership rolls, correspondence, reports to the Presbytery, and financial records.
