Chester Lamppin married Muriel Wigginton Lamppin (1906-1989) and the couple had two children together, Douglas William Lamppin (1939-1987) and Sherrill Lamppin Bohart (1939-2005). Douglas William Lamppin attended Tulane medical school and went on to become a flight surgeon and medical officer in the United States Air Force.
